Local
Group #642 reviewed the calendar for April. Travis Powell reported on the
plans for the Readings for Take Back the Night. Hal will ask Ivy Vainio if
we could use the Multicultural Center for the readings event. First choice
will be April 25. Second choice will be April 26. Travis has
recruited actors to read at the event. We discussed asking for donations
and having the receipts go to support Take Back the Night. Haji will talk
to Chartwells to ask if they will donate food. If not, then food for the
event could come from some of the donations being made by businesses to Take
Back the Night. The Take Back the Night planning committee has started
meeting each Friday noon at the Building for Women starting April 1.
Vagina Monologues will be performed April 12 at 7:00 PM at the Norshor Theatre.
Proceeds will go to Take Back the Night.
The Men as Peacemakers event on April 27th was discussed as were the UW-Superior
events the week before.
Haji discussed possible activism training by Beth Olson. He will ask her
what her rate is and whether the Local Group budget can pay for the training
will be discussed by the Executive Committee via email.
