The Government of Zimbabwe has embarked on an operation to forcibly evict hundreds of thousands of mostly poor residents. The Government refers to these actions "Operation Murambqatsvina", which translates to "Drive Out The Rubbish." As of mid-June 2005, over 300,000 persons have been brutally evicted from their homes.
